Ingredients

  • 2 ounces blanco (silver) tequila
  • 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice from about 1 lime
  • ½ ounce agave nectar amber or light
  • lime twist or wheel for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker packed with ice and shake for about 10 to 20 seconds to chill.
2 ounces blanco (silver) tequila, 1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, ½ ounce agave nectar
  • Double strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with your lime twist or wheel. Enjoy!

Notes

Tasters preferred amber agave over light agave in this tequila gimlet for its slightly bolder flavor. Feel free to substitute a 1 to 1 demerara simple syrup or other simple syrup if you do not have agave nectar.
Double straining removes all of the citrus pulp and ice shards from your cocktail.
You can also serve a tequila gimlet in a rocks glass over ice.
