Notes

The original Oaxaca Old Fashioned was made with a greater proportion of tequila to mezcal. To make the original tequila cocktail, combine 1.5 ounces tequila, one-half ounce of mezcal, a teaspoon of agave, and a few dashes of Angostura bitters. Garnish with a flamed orange peel.
The teaching is that cocktails with only alcohols should be stirred with ice, and cocktails with lime, lemon, or other fruit juices should be shaken.
