Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup blackberries fresh or frozen

Instructions

  • Combine the sugar and water in a small pot over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar has dissolved in the water. Do not let boil.

  • Add the blackberries and cook for a minute or so. Turn off the heat and let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  • Strain the blackberry syrup into a clean glass jar.

Notes

This blackberry simple syrup recipe will make about 1.5 cups of blackberry syrup.
Strained blackberries are delicious with yogurt or ice cream, or just eat them plain with a spoon!
