Sumac Sauce
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup low-fat yogurt or Greek yogurt plus more as desired, see notes
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice plus more to taste
- 1 small clove garlic, finely minced or crushed
- 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ground sumac
- ½ teaspoon salt plus more to taste
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper plus more to taste
Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl and stir to combine.
½ cup sour cream, ½ cup low-fat yogurt or Greek yogurt, 1 teaspoon lemon zest, 1 to 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 small clove garlic, finely minced or crushed, 1 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, 1 tablespoon ground sumac, ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Taste and add more lemon juice, salt, or pepper as desired. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
This recipe will make a little more than one cup of lemon sumac dressing.

If you like a thicker sumac sauce, use Greek yogurt over traditional yogurt. If you want a thin sumac dressing, use the traditional yogurt or thin the dressing even more with buttermilk.
